Summer 2026 GCSE and BTEC Results

Headline figures:

Nearly a third of all results were grades 7 to 9. 
74% of our students secured a Grade 4 or above in both English and Maths, with almost a third securing Grades 7 to 9 in each subject.
72% of students leave with five or more ‘good’ GCSEs including English and Maths. 
English and Maths pass rates were again exceptional with 78% achieving a grade 9-4 in English and the same percentage achieving a grade 9-4 in Maths.
Our Humanities students achieved some exceptional results with 40%, 47% and 48% of students achieving grades 7-9 in Geography, RE, and History respectively as well as French and German with 50% of students achieving grades 9-7.

Bertram Richter, Headteacher of Chipping Norton School said, “We feel immensely proud of all our students for what they have achieved today.  They have shown real strength of character through hard work and perseverance throughout Year 11 and particularly during the exam season.  It was a privilege to see so many smiling faces today as they opened their results, but more importantly, to hear so many conversations about the exciting next steps that they all have ahead of them.” 

Mr Trainer added “We know this day is the result of a huge team effort and would just like to thank all the parents and carers for your support, and also our fantastic staff at CNS who once again have enabled over 160 young people to choose their future.  We look forward to welcoming them back to our outstanding sixth form in a few weeks’ time - or indeed we wish them every success and happiness if their journey takes them elsewhere.”
