Chipping Norton School PTA

The Chipping Norton School Parent Teacher Association (PTA) is a registered charity, run by a small but passionate committee that rallies our community to help pay for projects that enrich the school experience of all pupils and fall outside of the school’s budget.

Each year we fundraise in a number of ways: regular initiatives include the Christmas raffle, providing refreshments at school performances and Chastleton House bake sales.  There are also a number of other events that pop up during the school year, such as the sponsored Screen Swap, where Year 7 and Year 8 go analogue and raise funds by helping their family and friends away from screens.

Last year we raised over £10,000 towards the Community Kitchen, which saw the redevelopment of a DT classroom into a beautiful new facility and teaching kitchen. A copy of our most recent activity and impact report can be downloaded here.

Current Project - Raise The Roof!

The PTA is currently fundraising for the refurbishment of the outdoor areas of the school.

After consultation with the Senior Leadership Team, we are refocusing our efforts. Keeping students’ ability to fully enjoy the outdoor spaces at the fore and with budget in mind, we are ‘raising the roof’ on the interior courtyard gardens of the school first. Starting with the library garden, the Year 7 covered area, and the space outside the maths block, before moving on to improving the provisions for the students to spend time outdoors come rain or shine by providing new shelters.

We are sure that our ambitions can become a meaningful part of the student’s lives with the support of our community, thank you for your support! Watch this space for updates.

Three Peaks Challenge

Three Peaks Challenge

Chippy Sixth Form will be fundraising to ‘raise the roof’ of the school’s interior courtyard spaces this Summer and Autumn!

19 students, 8 members of staff and 2 dogs have volunteered to give up three weekends in order to make this happen. Having already cut their teeth on the Malvern Ridge, they are preparing for the challenge of summiting the highest points in the three major mountain areas of Wales in the same weekend.

The challenge involves climbing Mount Snowdon, Cadair Idris and Pen y fan in one event. This has four main aims:

  •         to raise money for the school;
  •         to complete the personal challenge of three mountain ascents in succession;
  •         to enjoy new and challenging environments;
  •         to promote environmental awareness, team and leadership skills.

Climbing these three peaks as a member of a team will be, we hope, an extremely rewarding experience for the

students.

They aim to support the PTA’s fundraising goal to renovate the outdoor spaces around the school. Please support them to raise as much money as possible to renovate these much used and viewed spaces with new planting, lighting and seating, enabling students to make the most of the sheltered outdoor areas all year round.

Please give generously!

Donations

Small Gestures can have a BIG impact!

Can you give a tenner a term?

We appreciate any size donation, big or small, it all adds up over time. Making a regular donation to the PTA via the link below can support not only your child during their school years, but make a meaningful change to the whole school. Secondary schools don’t often have an active PTA, but our volunteers work hard to give each student a special experience during their secondary school years.

We understand that often parents have little time to give towards fundraising activities, but by making a regular donation you are able to contribute in a very meaningful way!

Monthly Donations
