Headteacher, Bertram Richter, writes…

“We would like to congratulate all our students on their effort, commitment and strength of character shown over the last two years which has been richly rewarded with a great set of examination results and, more importantly, shaped who they are today. I am delighted that so many of our Year 13s came to visit the school to collect their results so that they could share their joy and excitement with one another, colleagues and families.

I would also like to thank my colleagues for their commitment and expertise that combined so successfully with our students’ and families’ drive and determination.

Our headline figures once more reflect the strength and momentum of our Outstanding Sixth Form with a significant increase of A and A* grades and a 100% overall pass rate:

● 30% of all grades were A* or A

● 55% of all grades were A* to B

● 81% of all grades were A* to C

We wish all our students all the very best on their exciting journey ahead and can’t wait to see where it will take them!

Head of Sixth Form, Mr Peter Ward, writes…

We are incredibly proud of the achievements of all of our Year 13 students this summer. They committed to their studies, looked out for each other and set their sights high.

A quarter of all of our students achieved two or more A* and A grades, a brilliant achievement. Among them were Finn Davies, Oliver Hayes, Barnaby Hill, Oishin Islam, Jacob Kedward, Max Mallalieu-Needle, William Norton, Layla Williams and Alice Zajac - who, between them, earned a staggering 31 A* and A grades. Alice, with 4 A*s and As, will be heading to Oxford to study engineering. But the big story here is one of teamwork. This year group shared ideas, swapped notes, boosted confidence when it wobbled and celebrated every success together. What they achieved was individual but the journey was very much shared.

Our students now move onto exciting next steps. These include Grace Algar, who will be studying English at Exeter. Kiera Williams is heading to Bournemouth to study Product Design. Freya Rennie begins a motorsport engineering degree at Cardiff. Chloe Bristow will study psychology with criminology at Loughborough. Thomas Chettleborough is going to study Biology at Leeds. And Henry Roberts-Gant begins a policing degree at Portsmouth. The impressive destinations of our students reflect not only academic success but also the support, guidance and ambition of our outstanding Sixth Form.
